To get comfortable with your soil moisture level you can check using a bamboo skewer stick, push it in and pull it out. Its so interesting how easily you can feel moisture on every level of the stick.
Will the stones stain? No — they have a hydrophobic sealer to keep water marks away. Water beads off the stones.
Why was Plant Candii created? Plants were the only unfinished spot in our homes. I wanted modern beauty — we only had 2 options river rocks or moss. Neither were polished enough for me.
Q: How long does shipping take? A: 4–7 days to every cozy corner of the USA (and Canada — Hawaii & Alaska, a little longer ♡).
Q: What’s the base layer? A: Crushed oyster shell — drains beautifully, gives a polished finish, and keeps muddy water far from your pretty stones. Together, they stop soil compaction by spreading water gently. The oyster shell base layer will provide some calcium for the soil/plant as well. Oyster shell much more stable/firm compared to sand.

Q: Will cats stop digging? A: Yes! Customers say their cats and dogs ignore the planter once spheres or cubes are added.
Q: Gap between last spheres? A: Just nudge a few apart by ⅛” — poof, gap gone.
Q: Dirt is 2″ below the rim — what now? A: Add 1″ of soil, then the base layer (included). Leave room for stones to sit just right — try a few heights in one corner to see what you love. Base adds 3/4″ lift.
Q: What height should I install? A: Totally up to you and your pot — play with heights, see what feels perfect. At the rim, slightly above or slightly below looks best.
Q: Artificial plant, no dirt — what to fill with? A: The most common thing used in the plant/artificial plant industry is soil. A $3–4 bag from Home Depot, organic, easy to re-use later. When soil is dry it is pretty lightweight. Soil is lightweight when it is dry, other lightweight options are perlite, or peat moss. Both can be bought it huge bags at garden centres.
Q: Will Plant Candii change soil pH? A: No.
Q: Will it stain? A: Not with the sealer + a 3/4″ oyster shell base, for a white base you can buy 1/4″/6mm crushed coral. Not for submerged use (sorry, bamboo!).
Q: Do the stones change color? A: No — always gorgeous.
Q: Returns or exchanges? A: Returns within 30 days (opened but unused, box undamaged). Email info@plantcandii.shop — you cover return shipping. No exchanges due to shipping costs.
Q: Damaged in transit? A: Send a photo + order info to info@plantcandii.shop within 48 hours of delivery. After that, we can’t replace/refund.
Q: Order returned to sender? A: We’ll email you when it’s back — reply within 7 days or we’ll cancel/refund (minus shipping). Once marked “returned,” we just wait for it to arrive.
